Negombo

Negombo is a popular destination for both fishing and tourism. All year long, tourists can be seen. Many tourists stay in Negombo when they arrive or right before they leave because it’s the town closest to Katunayaka International Airport. For foreigners, there is much to offer. Fish auctions and markets that are well-known for their lobsters, prawns, and crabs are visible. There are plenty of dining options, nightclubs, motels, and guest houses.

At the Palangaturai beach, you may witness the breathtaking sunset. Additionally, you may witness fisherman dragging nets to the coast and catamarans coming back in the evening after a day of fishing. Negombo is referred to as “Little Rome” as the bulk of the population is Catholic. The town is full of churches.
